First edition in the book form: without the suppressed woodcut of Marquis of Stone on p.336 but with "Mr. Pitt" for "Sir Pitt" on p.453.
Initial advertisment leaf for "Great Hoggarty Diamond" present.
Contains 39 etched plates.
Contemporary half calf over marbled boards.
Size: 22 x 15 x 5 cm.
Condition: Very Good (VG)
Text block very clean with light toning and very minor foxing. Minor wear/rubbing on spine. Both boards securely attached with very minor wear to joints and hinges; front hinge broken. Minor scuffing and rubbing on boards. Shelf wear with wear to corners. Minor shelf lean. Dulling to page edges. Pencil inscriptions rubbed out on preliminary page. Frontispiece present but misbound after p.618. A few leaves starting to work loose. Endpapers lightly toned with minor foxing. Halt title prominently foxed with some foxing. Title page toned with foxing. Plates lightly transferred onto pages opposite.
