Homer was an ancient Greek writer from circa 750 B.C.E. He is often regarded as the most influential writer of all time. It was said that Aristotle introduced Alexander the Great to Homer's Iliad, and he memorised all 15,693 lines and incorporated ideas from Homer's Iliad in his strategy to conquer a significant proportion of the world.

Homer's quotes are legendary. A favourite of ours is "everything flows and nothing stays", much in the philosophical style of Heraclitus. For more information, the wikipedia page on Homer is really interesting.

Homer's works include the epic poems - the Iliad and the Odyssey.
