One of the most famous writers of the Enlightenment era; a poet and a translator of ancient texts.

Born in Britain, he was raised in Windsor Forest, away from large cities. As such, he was mostly self-educated with some input from priests and private tutors. He was a bright teen and young man. By the age of 23, he published his first major work, 'An Essay on Criticism', which followed some smaller poetical works.

He is most well known for his translation of the Iliad and the Odyssey, and his own personal works such as an Essay on Criticism, the Rape of the Lock, the Dunciad and Moral Essays, and the Essay on Man.
