The Second Jungle Books by Rudyard Kipling. The rare first impression of the first edition, published in 1895. Complete with the half-title and original endpapers, in its original binding.

Rare to find complete with advertisements, half-title, title page, and original endpapers. To add to this, it is internally in excellent condition with pages 2-238 all fine.

Condition: VG- to VG, internally near fine

Internally near fine. A pencil inscription to the second preliminary endpaper which could easily be removed, though shows the provenance of the book, having originally been bought by the Damant family. No bookplate attached. Half title and title page both present and fine. Slight staining to page one. [pp.2-238] fine. Macmillen & Co.’s Publications adverts (unnumbered leaf) present as called for. Front board VG+ with some small marks. Gilt fine. Rear board also VG+ though slightly better. Spine with some discolouration though no loss to gilt brightness. Shelf wear present, though minor. Some minor damage to top headcap of spine. Page edges VG+, with some very minor scratches. Page block bent slightly making the book misshapen.
