-------------------

The Satires of Persius and Juvenal is a collection of satirical works by two ancient Roman poets, Persius and Juvenal. The book, which is considered a classic of Roman literature, offers a humorous yet critical perspective on various aspects of ancient Roman society, including politics, religion, and everyday life. The satirical verses of Persius and Juvenal are known for their sharp wit, vivid imagery, and uncompromising critique of the social norms of their time.

This particular edition, published in 1845 and edited by Charles William Stocker, is the third edition of the book. It includes Stocker's notes and commentary on the works, as well as a biography of the poets.
