Tonson.
The book connects historical events with passages from the bible, providing context to the religious text.

Professionally restored in 2011 by Temple Bookbinders, costing £528. Rebacked in calf leather preserving original boards which were previously detached. New head bands inserted. Corners repaired.
Contains ephemera: 'Temple Bookbinders' invoice, and photocopy of the cover of 'Five Centuries on Religion: Theology and Church History 1480-1980' which mentions Prideaux's works (including these books) with pencil notes.
Contains large maps and illustrations; Five large maps, one large diagram, and one in-text illustration in volume one.

Condition: Very Good (VG+)
Text block very clean with light toning, and sporadic and very minor foxing. Very minor marks on spines and boards. Both boards securely attached. Dulling to page edges. Very minor warping of boards. Minor shelf wear. Bookplate attached to first preliminary page in both volumes. Very minor foxing and very small pencil inscriptions on preliminaries. Light toning and very minor foxing on title pages. Light crinkling to text blocks. Small marks on the reverse of the title page and on the font page of A2 in volume one.
very small marks on pages 44 and 45 in volume one. Very small tears to the hinge repair of the map between page 74 and 75 in volume one (does not affect illustration). Very small tear to page 93/94 in volume one (does not affect text). Tear to illustration between page 112 and 113 in volume one (very small affect on illustration) (pictured). Very small hole in the margin of page xi/xii in volume two (does not affect text). Very small hole on page 171/172 in volume two (affects text but is easily legible).
