Volumes one and three from 1847 and volume two from 1846 - All being the third edition according to title pages.
Contains four foldout maps and a single page sized map in volume one, two foldout maps and two paged sized maps in volume two, and three foldout maps in volume three.

The History of the Peloponnesian War is a book by ancient Greek historian Thucydides, documenting the events of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta in the 5th century BCE. It is considered a seminal work in the field of ancient history and provides valuable insights into the politics, culture, and military strategies of ancient Greece.

Condition: Very Good (VG+)
Text block very clean with light toning and very sporadic very minor foxing. Very minor wear to spines, with some rubbing and lightly sunned. Tooled tables present. All boards securely attached with minor wear to joints and hinges. Some scuffing, rubbing, and minor scratches on boards. Very small fragments of the board leather are lightly peeling (refer to photos). Shelf wear. Dulling to page edges. Pen ownership inscriptions on front pastedown and preliminary in all volumes. Pencil inscriptions on preliminary in volume one. "Horser & Storey, Booksellers" sticker on front pastedown in all volumes. Pastedown toned with some marks. Endpapers lightly toned with minor foxing. Light toning, very minor foxing and very minor marks on title pages. Small tear to foldout maps labeled "Sketch of the Corinthian Coast South of Cenchreæ", "Map of the Passes Between Boeotia & Attica", and "Plan of Minoa" (do not affect drawings - refer to photographs). Top corner of pages 11 to 14 of the index in volume three are unvenly cut when printed.
