John H. Arkwright was a Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, one of the richest landowners, and a Justice of Peace. He inherited Hampton Court Estate upon his father's death. He was known to have studied at Eton; making this book one that was received by him from Richard Okes who was a former alumni of Eton and a staff member at the time. Okes was also a Fellow of Kings, an ordained priest, and later the vice-chancellor of the university of Cambridge.

Text block extremely clean with very light toning and very sporadic very minor foxing. Spine lightly sunned. Tooled label present with very minor marks. Both boards securely attached with very minor wear to joints and hinges. Minor marks and scratches on boards. Shelf wear. Page edge design shows well. Pen dedication on preliminary.
