"Aeschylus All That Remains" is a collection of plays by the ancient Greek tragedian Aeschylus. The book is reviewed and illustrated by Frederick A. Paley, a prominent classical scholar of the 19th century. The brief commentary provided by Paley offers insights into the themes, characters, and historical context of Aeschylus' plays, as well as the translation and interpretation of the text.

Aeschylus' Prometheus Bound is a play that tells the story of Prometheus, a Titan who defies the gods by stealing fire and giving it to humans. As punishment, Zeus orders Prometheus to be chained to a rock and tortured for eternity. The play explores themes of power, rebellion, and the relationship between humans and gods. It is the first play in a trilogy known as the Prometheus plays, but the only surviving complete play from the trilogy.

Aeschylus' Oresteia trilogy is a series of three plays consisting of Agamemnon, Choephori, and Eumenides. The plays follow the story of the House of Atreus and its cursed lineage, which is plagued by murder, betrayal, and revenge. In Agamemnon, the titular character returns home after ten years of war and is murdered by his wife, Clytemnestra, in revenge for the sacrifice of their daughter Iphigenia. In Choephori, Agamemnon's son Orestes returns home to avenge his father's death and kills his mother, Clytemnestra, and her lover Aegisthus. In Eumenides, the Furies, goddesses of vengeance, pursue Orestes for his matricide until he is acquitted by the goddess Athena and the trial of the first court in history is established. The plays explore themes of justice, revenge, and the tension between personal desires and social responsibility.

"Aeschylus Supplications," also known as "The Suppliant Maidens," is a play that was written by Aeschylus in the 5th century BCE. The play follows a group of young women, the daughters of Danaus, who are seeking refuge in the city of Argos from their Egyptian cousins who seek to marry them against their will. The play explores themes of justice, morality, and the treatment of women in society.

"The Persians" is a play by Aeschylus that was first performed in 472 BCE, just eight years after the Battle of Salamis, a naval battle between the Greek city-states and the Persian Empire. The play takes place in Persia, where the Persian Queen Atossa is mourning the defeat of her son Xerxes in the battle. A messenger arrives with news of the Persian army's catastrophic defeat, and Atossa and the chorus of elderly Persian men lament the loss of their soldiers. The play offers a unique perspective on the Greco-Persian Wars, as it is told from the perspective of the defeated Persians rather than the victorious Greeks. It explores themes of hubris, fate, and the consequences of war.

"Aeschylus Seven Against Thebes" is a Greek tragedy play that follows the story of the conflict between two brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices, who are fighting for the throne of Thebes. The play depicts the tragic fate of the two brothers and the curse that follows their family due to the sins of their ancestors. The play also features the seven champions who have pledged to help Polyneices take the throne, and their eventual downfall in battle.
