An almanac is an annual publication that contains a variety of information on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to astronomy, astrology, weather, agriculture, and politics. These publications have been in existence since the Middle Ages and are often used as reference guides by farmers, sailors, and other professionals who require knowledge on seasonal patterns and other practical matters.


The London Calendar was a comprehensive annual publication that included information on the royal family, government officials, the judiciary, the military, and other notable figures in society. It also contained lists of important events, legal holidays, and other important dates. In addition, the book featured information on the weather, astronomy, and other practical matters.

Condition: Very Good (VG+)


Text block overall in very good condition with very light toning and very sporadic very minor foxing. Two spines have been rebacked (1802 and 1803 almanacs). 1800 almanac spine has been replaced. 1806 almanac spine prominently cracked with some rubbing to headcap. All boards securely attached. Both hinges of 1806 almanac broken. Prominent rubbing and small fragments of leather lacking from the 1800 almanac boards. Some rubbing and small fragments lacking from the 1802 boards. Sunned and prominent rubbed boards of the 1803 almanac. Very minor scuffing, scratching, and prominent marks on 1806 almanac boards. Shelf wear. Pen ownership inscription on front pastedowns. Very few pages are cut short at the bottom in 1802 almanac (does not affect text). Very minor tears to page edges and minor foxing on two foldout sheets in 1806. Slightly more prominent foxing to leaves in 1806 almanac.
